Facebook probará anuncios en Reels de Instagram

Reuters.- Facebook Inc dijo el jueves que comenzará a probar anuncios en su función Reels de Instagram en India, Brasil, Alemania y Australia, ya que el gigante de las redes sociales tiene como objetivo ganar dinero con su función de video de formato corto.

La compañía busca capitalizar su popularidad en India, un mercado de redes sociales de rápido crecimiento, mientras que su rival TikTok está prohibido en el país desde el año pasado. Facebook ha dicho que planea probar otras funciones en India, como permitir que los creadores de contenido compartan videos de Reels en sus cuentas de la red social.
La introducción de anuncios es una “indicación de lo fuerte que es el impulso para Reels”, dijo Carolyn Everson, vicepresidenta del grupo de negocio global de Facebook, en una entrevista. Everson se negó a compartir las métricas de uso de Reels.

Facebook también anunció el jueves que permitirá a los anunciantes seleccionar categorías de contenido de video en las que quieran colocar anuncios, como videos sobre niños y crianza de los hijos, animales y mascotas o fitness y entrenamientos.
La iniciativa es el mayor movimiento de Facebook hasta la fecha para permitir que las marcas se anuncien junto a los contenidos. Los anunciantes suelen utilizar Facebook para dirigirse a determinados usuarios según sus intereses.
“Este es un gran problema para los especialistas en marketing”, dijo Everson.
Facebook agregó que lanzará anuncios para las Stories de Facebook en las próximas semanas. Las marcas pueden crear ‘stickers’ que los creadores colocarán en sus Stories y los ‘influencers’ obtendrán una parte de las ventas realizadas a través de estos anuncios.
La función es parte del impulso de Facebook para cortejar a los creadores de contenido que ganan cada vez más dinero directamente de aficionados y seguidores a través de plataformas como la aplicación de chat de audio Clubhouse y el sitio de membresía Patreon.
